Home to tea, bought plums and tomatoes to give to Mother. Back to
Dedham on last bus, very crowded, as Dedham people always come into Colchester on Wednesdays.
Twenty nine years ago I was on the beach at
Lowestoft, watching the warships rushing south. Rudsdale was then four years old on the day the First World War began on 4th August 1914 and the Rudsdale family were on holiday in Lowestoft witnessing the warships sailing past.
