News on the radio today of German attacks on the S. Coast, several towns bombed.
The Imperial War Museum's Battle of Britain website explains that 12th August 1940 was a significant date in the Battle of Britain as the Luftwaffe began a systematic assault on Fighter Command's forward airfields and radar stations.
