Beautiful sunny day, though bitterly cold and freezing hard. Got a little hay in today from Pulford, enough to see one through a week, anyway. Short alarm this afternoon but only saw a Lysander and a Hurricane come over low in the east.
Bunks were brought into the Castle shelters today.

Pulford, was the miller at Cannock mill in Old Heath Rd. ,and for a time at Bourne mill, both mills obtaining their water power from the same stream ,which flowed from it,s source above Bourne pond, through the mill, and then carried down to Cannock mill, then under Old Heath rd, and the down to Distillery pond, ,through the distillery mill, a one time distillery, and then a laundry, which was bombed during the war. The stream finally drained into the river Colne, where it continues to this day
